About Me

For as long as I can remember, film has been the lens through which I understand and interpret the world. It is a passion that has grown and evolved throughout my high school years, transforming from a mere fascination to a full-fledged commitment to the art and craft of filmmaking.

My journey into the world of cinema began in the classrooms of my video production courses at Buckley High School, where I discovered the magic of storytelling through the camera’s eye. It was there that I created my first short films, "Heads Up" and "Relapse," each project a stepping stone in my understanding of narrative, emotion, and visual language. These films were my initial forays into the expansive universe of cinema, and they marked the beginning of an enduring love affair with filmmaking.

However, my passion for film extends beyond the boundaries of production. I am equally fascinated by the study of cinema, its history, and its profound impact on society. This passion led me to participate in a summer mentorship program, where I immersed myself in the world of film theory, history, and criticism. Under the guidance of experienced mentor Jennie Chamberlain, I delved deep into the intricate details of filmmaking, from narrative structures to visual aesthetics.

This immersive experience culminated in a comprehensive research essay on the cinematography of "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," a film that stands as a testament to the transformative power of visual storytelling. My analysis explored the ways in which the film’s innovative camera techniques and visual language contribute to its storytelling, creating a tapestry of emotion and memory that is as complex as it is captivating.

The summer program at UCLA was another pivotal moment in my journey, providing me with an invaluable opportunity to learn about cinematography from industry professionals. It was a hands-on experience that deepened my appreciation for the art of camera work and its crucial role in storytelling. The program was a thrilling adventure into the heart of filmmaking, and it left an indelible mark on my understanding of cinema.

In every frame of my work and every page of my research, my love and passion for film shine through. It is a journey that began in the classrooms of high school and has since taken me to the prestigious halls of UCLA, and every step of the way has been fueled by an unwavering passion for storytelling. Film is not just an art form to me; it is a language, a way of seeing the world, and a constant source of inspiration. As I stand at the threshold of a new chapter in my cinematic journey, I carry with me the lessons learned, the films created, and the unquenchable passion for cinema that has defined my high school years.
